Greyson at 17 months (in photos)

Greyson is 17 months old today! He is such a hoot! (Can't you tell in this picture???) What a blessing and joy he is in our lives! Here are some of the things he's been doing the past month...

He is such a book worm! He loves his books!

He has a wonderful sense of humor!

He loves to climb on things, and stand on them! He was watching the Olympics while performing this stunt!

He also likes to get inside things!

He still loves his "Happy" - his name for his pacifier.

He loves trucks and his favorite words are dump truck and trash truck.

He likes his PJ's with trucks on them.

He is an animal lover.

He loves to be outdoors. That's where he is happiest!

We 'practiced' with a baby doll this past month, washing it, loving it, checking its diaper for 'stinky' - which he calls 'Shoooooo'. The next day he walks up to his Mimi who is leaned over the bathroom sink applying make up, puts his nose to her butt, and yells 'Shoooooooooooooo!'.  Thanks little buddy!

Climbing on stuff again!

He is not afraid of anything...here we are at the Flint RiverQuarium and he sticks his foot out to put it on a rattlesnake. Thank the Lord it was in a glass tank!
He is very opinionated - and will let you know if something is not agreeable with him!

His Grandaddy Keene has passed on his love of animals to Greyson. Again, as you can see, he has no fear!

He loves animals, but also loves to irritate them...poor Bandit!

He is very sociable and enjoys being around other kids...of all ages!
t

He seems so 'grown-up' sometimes because of all the words he says and all the 'big-boy' things he does. But at the end of the day, when he lays his sweet head down, he is still a baby boy. He is so sweet and fills our hearts with love and joy. Each day we are thankful  for this precious baby and know we've done nothing to deserve him, but we thank God for letting him be a part of our lives!

The First Case of Drive-Thru Rage

Once upon a time, long ago, there were three very educated (studied astrology), well-off (like royalty), and religious (lots of vows had been taken) gentleman who went on a road trip together.

Using their ability to 'follow the stars' as a map, Balt, Cass and Mel headed out on their trip to find someone they felt was very special, in a spiritual kind of way. They had many backpacks full of food and drink when they set out, to sustain them on their long trip.

After finding the young fellow they were looking for, and giving him all kinds of crazy gifts that he probably at the time thought were useless and boring, the three headed back home. Learning that 'Big Brother' was watching and following, they decided to take a different route home.

After a few days of driving, Balt, Cass and Mel realized their food and drink supply was running very low. Just thinking of running out of food was making them hungry. And hungry men are grumpy men!!!!

Finally, they come upon a place which offered a night's rest and food. They didn't need a room, but eating was high on their list of things to do on this trip!

They handed the reins to their camels (yes, camels) to a livestocksman and went inside the Inn to place orders for food, asking that it be wrapped for travel, and they planned to go down the road a bit, pitch camp and cook the food they purchased.

After the transaction was made with the innkeeper, the three fellows loaded up their food and climbed back on the camels and headed out.

None of them could wait to see what the food looked like and even though they knew it was not cooked yet, they had to take a peek.

Balt opened his bag and saw a nice leg of lamb, just like he ordered!

Cass opened unwrapped his parcel and there were the three big fish he asked for!

Mel opened his pack and was shocked to see instead of the shoulder of calf he'd asked for, there was a plucked goose instead!

Well, you can imagine how angry Mel was! He hastily wrapped the goose back up in its pack and slung it towards the window of the Inn and screamed 'This is not what I ordered'! Instead of calmly walking back in the Inn and getting his order straightened out, he kicked his camel which made the camel take off with a start! He screamed and shouted the whole time he was passing by the Inn and when the Innkeeper stuck his head out the window to see what the commotion was, all he could see was a cloud of sand and one fist sticking up from the cloud - shaking in anger!

The Innkeeper was stunned, but he couldn't help but chuckle because the camel-rider looked so ridiculous! He thought to himself, "Hey, I don't make much profit from selling meat to the traveler's", so he turned and went on about his business.

Meanwhile, Mel went on down the road hungry and his friends were ticked because he embarrassed them.

Now you know where the first case of drive-thru rage originated. (And try to remember, the drive-thru folks don't make much money, so they probably don't care if they mess up your order. And if you make a scene, you are fueling their laughter and your friends are probably not going to share their food with you!)

Greyson 16 months (in pictures)

Greyson is 16 months old today! He has reached this mile stone with  much to celebrate!
He has a mouth full of teeth and is breaking in some new ones - molars!
He can walk and run very well now!
He has quite the vocabulary - at his pediatrician visit the doctor asked if he knew at least three words...oh he knows alot more than that!
He is stacking his blocks. Pays attention (most times) when a book is read to him.
He likes the movie 'Cars'.
He recalls things that happened to him...like when Mimi tells him the story of how the duck bit his ear at St. Simons, he starts acting out the story before she can finish telling it!
He is still Mama's boy, not wanting her out of his sight for very long at all!
He enjoys playing (and fighting) with his cousins.
Greyson says. . . you've got to excercise to stay healthy!

Greyson says...You've got to keep up with
what's going on in the world!

Greyson says...you should be very expressive when telling
a story! (It makes it more interesting!)
Greyson says...if you think someone's shoes are too big to fill,
you may be right, but try any ways!

Greyson says...You gotta take time to do something for yourself...like play with your toys. It will make you happy!

If you ask Greyson if he wants a baby brother, he shakes his head no. Never the less, he is getting one in less than 2 months! Soon there will be pictures of his baby brother! So check back soon!

Greyson 14 Months (In Pictures)

Feeding the ducks at the pond - St. Simon's Island
Fourteen Months Old - An Exciting Age!
Greyson began walking at 14th months. For about a week he would stand up and take a step or two and then he just took off!
He can repeat a lot of words you say. He said bunny rabbit so clearly one day - but of course hasn't said it again since! And his mommy heard him say trash truck one day when she was explaining what the loud noise was outside.
He will tell you his scrambled eggs and his bath water are 'hot'.
He imitates many animal sounds and one day at the farmers market he saw some 'fake' chickens and started calling out very loudly...bock - bock - bock!

When he is looking through his books, if there is a picture of an insect or spider - he has to slap it!
He went on vacation to St. Simon's Island and enjoyed the beach, swimming in the pool and feeding the ducks.
He continues to be the pride and joy of his parents and grandparents!
Playing with washed up debris on the beach at St. Simon's Island.
Shopping for books while on vacation.
Greyson loves to pull out all his toys and play with everything!
He also likes to get into things he's not supposed too!
He is still a Momma's boy and wants to be right next to Momma...in this case, right beside her on the couch.
Bath time is still play time!
He is still in Momma and Dada's bed.
Watching Dada cut grass...and wondering why Sadie (the dog) gets to be outside with Dada.
Learning more and more to feed himself. Rice, beans and corn at this meal. Some is on top of the his head!

At the end of the day he has to play with toys some more...it's the perfect ending to a long day!
