Wonderful Winter!

Last Friday morning, the weatherman was so excited he nearly peed his pants! We were expecting one to four inches of snow and all of Metro-Atlanta was waiting...almost holding its breath even.

I sat at my desk and worked away...glancing ever so often to the big plate glass windows across the back wall...watching for those first flakes. So distracted by this watching and waiting, I totally forgot to attend a meeting!

At last, after noon and after lunch time, the white stuff was seen blowing down from the skies. It didn't come down softly, but hurriedly and forcefully. All of us drones went to the windows to watch a few minutes before returning to our mountains of paperwork.

After about an hour, there was a good dusting of snow covering the cars in the parking lot and the surrounding grassy areas. But the parking lot and driveways remained clear.
At 3:00 that afternoon, people begin to feel nervous about their drives home, and some decided to use vacation time or comp time and leave early. I was one of those people, opting to hang around until 4:00 and then packing it up and leaving.

The drive home was not so bad. The traffic was thick but thankfully everyone was driving safely and I made it to Loganville without too much delay.

By the time I passed through Grayson, the ground and trees were covered with snow, and slush was forming on the roads. It truly began to look like a Winter Wonderland!
I made a stop in the grocery store to get a few things, and then carried on towards home. It's amazing how snow and ice changes the way things look, almost making you feel like you are on foreign turf.

Here are some views of the Wonderful Winterscapes on my way home from work...
